Symmio Trading-SDK — the SDK surface for builders on Arbitrum

OrderType

OrderType identifies how a contract order is executed. Its numeric values match enum OrderType in perps-core v0.8.6.

import { OrderType } from "@symmio/trading-core"; OrderType.LIMIT; // 0 OrderType.MARKET; // 1 OrderType.MARKET_BEST_EFFORT; // 2 — close-only

Members

MemberValueBehavior
LIMIT0Executes at the requested price or better. A partial close-to-liquidation fill leaves the unfilled close request pending.
MARKET1Market execution. A live close request requires a full fill of the requested quantity and cannot use close-to-liquidation execution.
MARKET_BEST_EFFORT2Close-only market execution. Allows a close-to-liquidation fill and cancels any unfilled request remainder after that partial fill.

Best-effort close behavior

MARKET_BEST_EFFORT is valid for requestToClosePosition. An ordinary fill still fills the entire requested close quantity. If a full fill would cross PartyA’s permitted solvency boundary, the solver can use fillCloseRequestToLiquidation to fill the executable portion instead. The contract then clears the remainder of that close request; any remaining position stays open. This operation is a close, not a liquidation.

The protocol chooses the executable quantity. If no positive valid amount exists, the transaction reverts. Opening a quote with order type 2 also reverts. See the perps-core close-to-liquidation documentation  for the execution rules.

SDK close requests

instantClose and its single and bulk variants select the encoded order type from the resolved solver:

  • Enigma market closes use MARKET_BEST_EFFORT (2).
  • Rasa market closes use MARKET (1).
  • Limit closes retain LIMIT (0).

The instantClose input orderType continues to accept the market/limit values 1 | 0. Omit it or pass ORDER_TYPE_MARKET for a market close; the SDK selects Enigma’s best-effort value before signing. OrderType.MARKET_BEST_EFFORT describes the contract value and is also available when constructing raw close calldata.

Opening orders continue to use LIMIT or MARKET.
